You can easily connect your ORCID to PubMed, SciENcv, and Europe PubMed Central, to integrate your data, distinguish your work from authors with similar names, and ensure that all your work is reflected even if published under a previous name. You can also sign-in to My NCBI using ORCID and seamlessly exchange data between ORCID and Web of Science.
Once you have an ORCID remember to use it! Add your ORCID to email signatures, online profiles, manuscript submissions, peer reviews, grant applications, and more. If a journal or conference you are submitting to does not have a way to include an ORCID with your information, consider contacting the editors or organizers and requesting that they make it an option. ORCID is a great way for students to generate visibility for their work. ORCID profiles support a wide variety of output, from poster projects to student papers to video exhibits, conference papers, blog posts, websites, and even letters confirming your appointment to boards or panels. All information in your ORCID record can be privacy controlled. You choose whether you want an item to be visible only to you, to trusted organizations, or to the public web. You control your preferred name and the institutions and entities that ORCID can harvest information from or share information with.
