There are many newsletters and trade publications that cover issues relevant to environmental law. This list includes a few websites, the databases offered by the law library that are commonly used by environmental attorneys, and a sampling of the many environmental publications you can find on Lexis and Westlaw.

These databases are some of the best compilations of environmental law news and resources available. They are specifically designed to provide practitioners with up-to-date information, research tools, and analysis.  

Lexis Advance offers a couple ways to easily access environmental law materials. This short video will show two easy approaches.

In WestlawNext, the easiest way to get to environmental news is to click on the Topics tab and then on Energy & Environment.

Federal agencies can be excellent sources for studies, data, and regulatory information.

• The EPA has sites on laws and regulations, science, and other more specific topics such as water quality.

• The Department of Energy devotes part of its website to environmental science.

• The Department of the Interior website has links to a variety of internet resources on environmental issues.

The BNA reports, listed to the left, are also available through BloombergLaw (which now owns BNA). If you prefer the BloombergLaw platform, you can access these reports using this link on the Bloomberg Law homepage.

Then select the Environment list.
