Research Data Services

This guide describes the services offered by the Ruth Lilly Medical Library for the management, sharing, and preservation of research data at the IU School of Medicine.

Service Cores

Research core laboratories provide investigators with specialized scientific services to support their research. Cores can offer research design guidance, to support conducting experiments, to equipment or materials access, or to assistance with the processing and analysis of research data, in addition to other services. They often operate on a "fee for service" model and pricing for services can be found on individual core webpages or by contacting the core directly (see link below).

Analysis Tools for IUSM Affiliates

There are a variety of analysis tools available to IUSM affiliates that are free of charge and can be accessed remotely and/or installed locally on computers. For help using any of these tools, please contact a medical librarian and we can direct you to support and/or resources.

Biostats Walk-In Clinic

The IUSM Department of Biostatistics offers a free, weekly walk-in clinic. The clinic is generally held on Mondays from 12-2pm in the Rotary building (Room 130) and no reservations are required. A biostatistician will be available to answer questions or provide guidance related to study design, data analysis, interpretation of results, and some support on use of statistical software. If more extensive help is needed, the biostatistican can discuss additional services (potentially fee-based) and guide to the appropriate person.
