PowerPoint is the current leader, but there are other options.  No matter which option you use be sure to avoid the common presentation mistake of reading your presentation! The on-screen presentation is simply a visual aid to be used to enhance your "spoken words."

Zoho Docs is a suite of cloud-based office tools. There is no steep learning curve as it functions similar to Google Slides and PowerPoint.

Zoho works online - which means you can design and deliver your slides via multiple devices, irrespective of the operating system. Zoho Show is compatible on all available browsers - all you need to do is go online and present.

Prezi is a free, cloud based presentation software that can run on any computer or web browser. There is also an app that allows mobile users to use the software. Prezi allows the user to place objects on a canvas and navigate between videos, images, text and other media. Prezi is known for its distinctive zooming interface, which allows users to zoom in and out of their presentation media.

Visme is a presentation tool most commonly used for presentations, infographics, banners and short animations and teasers. Users can publish and share Visme online, embed it to website or blogs, and even download it as Image, PDF or as HTML5 files. Visme focuses on eliminating clutter by using a web/mobile friendly Text Editor feature and streamlined slide panel -- loaded with templates and thousands of free images -- to help users create visual content and presentation slides faster. emaze is an online presentation tool that utilizes html5 technology. Haiku Deck allows you to make a fast and easy slide presentation online or via its iPad app. This software is designed specifically for the mobile user. Haiku Deck is also designed to discourage informational overload via text, and instead focuses on brevity and making clean and concise slide shows, or "decks" as they are called on the website. The website allows you to search a database of over 35 million Creative Commons images to use for your presentation.
