The Science Instruction Librarian position is open due to a retirement.
The Science Instruction Librarian will serve as liaison to the IU Indianapolis School of Science Departments of Mathematical Sciences, Earth & Environmental Sciences, and Physics and one of multiple librarians who support the Windows on Science first-year seminar course. As a liaison, the Science Instruction Librarian is responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with faculty and students in assigned departments. Beyond teaching, other liaison responsibilities include research consultations, chat reference, outreach, research support including research metrics, support for scholarly communication, and awareness and use of open educational resources. In addition, this position will support biohealth and bioscience instruction and research including liaising with institutes connected to the SciTech Corridor and develop AI literacy programs, advocate for the ethical use of AI, and support AI related initiatives.
The person in this position will work collaboratively with the other STEM and Health Sciences librarians (Mahasin Ameen, Randall Halverson, Rachel Hinrichs, Eric Snajdr, Billy Tringali).
