E-Books: Finding and Using Electronic Books: Using E-Books Online

Most e-books can be read online via a web browser. Some e-book vendors, like ProQuest and EBSCOhost, offer a variety of features that enhance the reading experience. These include the ability to make annotations, copy and print text, and save books for later. To take advantage of these features you will need to create a personal account with that e-book vendor.

To create an account on ProQuest Ebook Central,  click on "Sign In" on the blue bar at the top right corner of the screen and click on "Create account" at the bottom center of the page.

Features Include:

Personal Accounts

• create a personal account to annotate books and save titles to your bookshelf
• organize books and annotations into folders 

Annotations

• highlight text and write notes (color code yellow, blue, and pink)
• bookmark important pages

Copying and Printing

• print individual pages or page ranges (usually around 40% of the book's pages).
• copy words, paragraphs, or entire pages and paste them into another application, such as an email or word processing file

To create an account, in eBooks on EBSCOhost, click on "Sign In" on the blue bar at the top of the screen.  Then click "Sign up" on the center top side of the screen below "Welcome back."
