Introduction

Bruce A. Wagman, Sonia S. Waisman, and Pamela D. Frasch, in their textbook Animal Law Cases and Materials Sixth Edition, define animal law as follows: "Animal law is, in its simplest (and broadest) sense, statutory and decisional law in which the nature — legal, social or biological — of nonhuman animals is an important factor." (pg xxxi)
