The Public Health/Health Administration Caucus (PH/HA) offers a research award for the best paper in the field of public health or health administration librarianship published within the previous three years (2022-2025). Applicants can submit individual or collaborative projects. The total amount of the award is $300.
At least one member of the team must be a member of the Medical Library Association. This person should be the one submitting the paperwork. Membership in PH/HA is preferred but not required.
All applications for the PH/HA research award are due by March 3, 2025.
If the committee selects a winner for the award, it will be presented during the annual MLA meeting, and/or mailed afterwards if necessary.
The research committee will award the paper that best meets the following criteria:
A committee of five (5) volunteers from the Public Health/Health Administration Section, selected for their experience in research, evaluates all applications. The committee will also search the literature for relevant nominee papers and contact the authors to recommend submitting, but we will only review self- or peer-nominated applications.
Please send all parts of the application (the following form, with statement and copy of manuscript) bundled electronically, as one PDF file to Rachel Hinrichs, Chair, PH/HA Research Committee, at rhinrich@iu.edu with the subject “PH/HA Research Award Application.”
