Zotero is a free and open source reference management system. You can download Zotero for Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems. You will need to install the desktop program and the plugin for your preferred browser. Plugins are available for Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, and Safari.
This page will show you how to export your publications from Zotero as a BibTeX file and import them into Digital Measures Activity Insight
You may find that this saves you time importing your publications into Digital Measures Activity Insight, especially if you already using Zotero. This is not the only way to batch import your citations into Activity Insight using a BibTeX file, there are a variety of other ways documented on the Digital Measures web site.
In Zotero, select the publications you wish to export, right-click and choose Export Items...:
Set the export to BibTeX and uncheck the translator options:
Save the .bib file to a location on your computer.
Log in to https://one.iu.edu/ and open Digital Measures -- Activity Insight. In the Research/Creative Activity Section, select Publications/Scholarship of Discovery:
Click on the Import Items button at the top of the screen:
Select Option A: Import a file exported from another system and choose the .bib file you exported from Zotero:
After selecting the file, click Continue at the top of the screen.
Now, you are asked to match co-authors from your publications to people in IU's system:
Finally, review your publications to make sure they metadata is correct:
If you notice any errors in the metadata, you will need to fix them in Zotero and export a new BibTeX file to upload. When you are satisfied, click Finish Import at the top of the screen.
