This page contains information on the wide variety of resources & services available to students at IUPUI. NOTE: With the exception of graduate carrels, these services and resources are also available to undergraduates students. Research

Citation Management
Whatever you do, use a citation management tool! It will save you hundreds of hours by organizing and formatting your citations.
InterLibrary Loan
Use this to get articles and books not available through IUPUI. Articles usually arrive in a couple of days. Books can take longer.

Request Delivery
Use this to request books that are in IUCAT (in the IU system) but not at IUPUI University Library. Materials arrive in a couple of days.

If you have a book or other items that you would like the library to purchase, please fill out this form.
Research Consultations
Your subject librarian is happy to meet with you one-on-one to discuss your research topic, potential sources of information, developing keywords, etc.
Scholarly Publications Repository (IU Indianapolis ScholarWorks)
ScholarWorks shares over 5,000 articles, posters, reports, theses, educational materials and historical documents submitted by members of the campus community.
Using the Library Off-Campus
When you are off-campus, library resources will not be available to you unless you either (1) login to library databases from the library webpage using your IU/IU Login; or (2) set up a VPN so you don't have to use your IU/CAS credentials each time. This link provides information on setting up VPN.

Teaching & Learning

Course Reserves
If you are a teaching assistant for a class, the professor can designate you as proxy to put items on reserve.
Library Instruction
This page contains information on how to request a library instruction session for your class.
Tutorials
The library provides tutorials on a variety of subjects and topics. The "Start Your Research Tutorial" is designed to give undergraduate students the basics of research.

Spaces

Graduate Carrels
University Library has 42 study carrels with locking cabinets available for IUPUI graduate students. Request a carrel at this link.
Group Study Rooms
University Library has over 40 individual and group study rooms on Levels 3 and 4 which you can reserve for up to 2 hours at a time.

Data Support
The Data Services Program is here to help IUPUI researchers manage, share, preserve your research data. All services are free to IUPUI faculty, staff, and students.
